Day Two rantage, shorter than Day One

- I really like the every night format of this. It makes it very exciting. Much more exciting than if I'd have to wait a week each time to see the next part.

- Lois is very cool. I have few hopes of her staying alive, for this reason.

- As much as I love(d) Tosh and Owen, I feel like the other characters are really shining when given more attention. I mean, I've never cared much for Gwen in the past, but she pretty much carried this episode and did it awesomely. I think I could happily watch a show with only Gwen and Ianto, actually. And Rhys. Turns out, Jack isn't all that necessary, as he spent most of this episode chained to a wall, screaming.

- Jack piecing himself back to together was suitably creepy.

- The only problem with my Gwen and Ianto Get a Show plan is that when Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd get upset and are talking to each other, I have no idea what they are saying. Seriously, Gwen and Ianto are yelling at each other on the phone and I was like 'what was that? Something about an infirmary?' I love a Welsh accent. I just can't understand it.

- When did Rhys get so cool and loveable? I love that they've taken him from loser boyfriend to awesome husband. He and Gwen are so cute together. Potatoes!

In other, non-TW related news, our car went batshit crazy this morning. At 1:30 AM, the alarm started going off by itself for no reason we could discern, then the alarm stopped without us doing anything. My dad went out to check on it and the car was locking and unlocking itself. Weird.

Aliens. *nods*
Or maybe Fairies.

When the Welsh actors get together, I end up screeching at the telly in the same accent. Not that surprising considering I'm a) part Welsh and b) from Liverpool - where Scouse (our accent) has been influenced by the Welsh accent (as well as Irish). I have a lot of contact with Welsh and Irish people in the hospital too.

Infirmary? Oh that was probably 'Your phone. Your phone could be bugged'

I was just reading yesterday about the Welsh influence on the Scouse accent. It was one of those terrible Wiki situations where I went looking to see if the way I wanted to use 'cwtch' in a sentence was accurate and ended up somewhere in the depths of Wiki with no idea how I got there.

It's probably like when French-Canadian people get together. It's like a contest to see who can say the most words in the fewest syllables the fastest, while quacking like a duck.

"Chuis trop fat'gué, t'sais?"
"Ouais."

I had this issue when I was watching "Meat" and all the Welsh guest stars were shouting at each other. I kept wanting subtitles as everything felt, "Who is the what at the where now?"

Our local Subway here is owned by a Middle Eastern family, and I cannot understand their accent at all. I'm usually pretty good with accents, but I'm always going 'pardon?' when I'm ordering. It makes me feel like such an ignorant Canadian.

I had a Ioan Gruffudd phase in Grade Eight and I could never understand what he was saying in interviews, either. He has the thickest Cardiff accent. I remember watching Solomon & Gaenor and between the Welsh and the Yiddish and the English with Welsh Accents, I was glad there were subtitles!

Wizards!

Ah, that makes sense.

The super of my new building has a very thick Polish accent and talks incredibly fast. I often feel like an idiot repeating what I think he's said to confirm. *hangs head*

I kind of love Ioan Gruffudd's Welsh accent. I'd only ever heard him speak with his modulated British-y one until I saw him guesting on the Graham Norton show.

Turns out, Jack isn't all that necessary, as he spent most of this episode chained to a wall, screaming.

Watching Gwen and Ianto rescue Jack reminded me that the team did manage to survive quite well without Jack in between seasons 1 and 2. Also, I might have laughed/cheered at the Unexpected!Ianto with the JCB.
