From [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble:

Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know.

For anyone needing clarification: you make up the title of this fic I never wrote and what you liked about it. I'll take care of the rest. (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble for the clarification, too)

Oh, good, so I wasn't the only one slightly confused the first time.

Re: your background noise status
I feel like he's trying to erase all the crap ones Bush gave by drowning us with his.

Anyway, the meme!
"Natural Selection"
It amazed me that I could practically hear Diefenbaker's dry sarcasm through the entire thing.

I have this image of him in the press room, talking non-stop 24/7 and mainlining coffee. At least I don't want to punch him, like I did as soon as Bush opened his mouth.

"Natural Selection"
First Line: The trick to getting a suitable amount of donuts was to choose which detective to attack first, Diefenbaker had learned.

Last Line: And donuts were way better than pemmican, anyway.

What made me want to write it: I love looking at a fandom world from the POV of someone we don't usually get in the head of.

Biggest problem: As always, avoiding throwing in too many Dresden Files references. This happens vice versa, too.

Scene on the cutting room floor: Dief's comparison on stealing donuts from Old Ray vs. New Ray.

"5 Things Murphy Really Wished Harry Had Told Her Sooner"

I love the mix of silly and serious! The last part was just so sweet. <3

"5 Things Murphy Really Wished Harry Had Told Her Sooner"

First Line: It wasn't until the perp turned into a bat that Murphy thought to seriously question why Dresden had a stuffed a clove of garlic in her pocket.

Last Line: Harry wrapped his arms around her and Murphy decided that she didn't mind waiting for this, after all.

Why it almost didn't get posted: I am terrible with love scenes!

Scene on the Cutting Room Floor: Murphy and Bob meeting. I decided that deserved its own fic.

Biggest Problem: Finding that mix between silly, serious and sweet, without getting cliche.

I LOVE THIS FIC. <3 Like, just that last line made me go "heeeeee" and feel all warm and fuzzy. I suspect it's against the rules of the meme to beg you to write the whole thing...? :D

Great response. Hee. <3

I loved the quiet friendship Ancient Mai and Anna Murphy had in This too.

I'm not sure what to ask for:
* where did the idea come from?
or
* what scenes got cut out?

ps: oh the look on Harry's face! ;D

Don't worry, I get to choose! :-D

"This Too"

First Line: Ancient Mai was no baby-sitter, but she didn't mind the brat belonging to Dresden's little cop friend so much.

Last Line: Anna promised not to tell about the jumping rope.

Biggest problem: Putting Anna and Ancient Mai together without it seeming like a forced situation.

Why it almost didn't get posted: Fear of Ancient Mai killing me for ruining her reputation as a badass. However, I feel like I left it intact.
