First, from [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble

Comment with what you believe I should write next. A drabble? A oneshot? An epic? The next chapter of a WIP from ages ago? Want to see me write in an old tried and true fandom or dip my toe into a different fandom I've praised but have yet to fic? Specific character? Specific genre? Give me your suggestions and poke my Muse.

Next, from [livejournal.com profile] featherjean

Give me a fandom I'm in, a character or pairing (or threesome/whatever), and a prompt (word, image, phrase, poem, reference, whatever) and I'll give you something creative made of words. (Meta? A line of fic? A paragraph? A drabble? A ficlet? A full story? We'll see.)

I hope you know you broke my brain with this. :p

Lip Service

I couldn't decide which was worse - passing out with Ancient Mai's tongue down my throat or waking up to Morgan's face far too close for comfort.

"Oh," Morgan said. "You're alive."

"No, I'm pretty sure this is Hell," was my pithy comeback. Or it would have been, had my vocal chords cooperated. Instead, my pithy comeback was "errrrggg." I managed to sit up and swallowed a few times, trying to locate all the pieces of my mouth and get them into working order again. Once I was sure they were, I pointed to Morgan and pronounced clearly, "screw you. You left me here with that thing, you bastard."

"I had to get Her Highness to safety," he said, unfazed. "And you were far less important than her."

I made a face, but couldn't really argue with the logic. "Is she safe?"

"Yes," he said. "She is with the others. I came back expecting to find you dead."

"Sorry," I said. "I just keep disappointing you on that. One day I'm sure I'll get it right."

He may have cracked a bit of a smile. "Dresden," he said, after a moment, "why was Ancient Mai kissing you?"

"Because my day was apparently not bad enough already?" I said, with a shudder. He looked at me, expectantly. I half wanted to just leave him hanging, but I also felt the need to clarify, lest he get the wrong impression. "I swallowed some of the poison from that thing. Mai...sucked it out, I think. She did this thing with her tongue...man, I really need mouthwash."

"No, I figured out what she was doing," he said. "I just can't figure out why."

"Oh, why save me, you mean?" I said. "Yeah. Who knows? You'll have to ask her."

We both knew that wasn't going to happen. Morgan stood up and I staggered up after him.

"You won't compromise us, will you?" he asked me.

"I'm fine, thanks," I said.

He nodded and we walked towards the exit of the building.

"But," I said. "I really need a breath mint."
