Man, finding gifts that a family of geniuses might exchange is harder than I thought. You'd think they'd be easier, considering they have very specific interests, but then you remember they probably own most things associated with them, or built them. Or invented them.
And you can't go sentimental at all.
No wonder Christmas dinners are so awkward.

Perhaps the promise that Sherlock will show up to something/do Mycroft a favor that he wouldn't normally do? Guh, you're right, it is hard.

Date: 2013-08-12 03:59 pm (UTC)The problem is what Mummy might get for her boys, and what she might get for them. She can be sentimental, of course, but it wouldn't be appreciated. I can sort of skim over most of it, but I'd like to mention a few specific things they received. I think I have what I need now. I just need something Mycroft might give her. I didn't think she'd be hard to shop for, but she is! LOL
Stupid fictional characters.

Yes, this is very true! I'm sure she's very glad when her boys get together and she can be motherly in one place. I imagine she does a lot of individual parenting, considering how antisocial they all are.
Now to finish off this beast of a story, and make it look nice. It got very, very long on me.
