Me: All right, so, I'd like to get this story done before Christmas, and maybe this one and this one during the holiday season, and then these ones aren't seasonal, so I'll leave those until later unless I get something I need to write down. Okay?
Brain: Yep, sounds good.
Me: Good, so that's the plan and we'll stick to that.
Brain: Yep, totally.
Me: Excellent, so I'll just open up the the first story and we can--
Brain: You know what would be a good story?
Me: No, we're working on this story.
Brain: But, what about a story where--
Me: This story.
Brain: New AUs!
Me: No.
Brain: Children!
Me: No!
Brain: You know who we haven't given a daemon to yet...
Me: I hate you.

Sounds about right when one's brain is high on plot bunnies and AU-versing.

It's mental. Last month I had barely any ideas and now I don't have enough time to write everything I want to write. My word fairy has ADHD. My migraines have been pretty good this month, though, so that probably helps.

I watched the first Iron Man movie on Sunday and I realized I didn't give Yinsen a daemon, so I accomplished that today, and hopefully that will do for the daemon fairy for now. I'm trying to keep her occupied until I get my canon story done, but she's trying to lure me into a Christmas Trio 'verse daemon story.

I've never had any issues with plot bunnies. They come to me droves. But my Word Fairy definitely has ADHD and is a capricious thing. I've gotten so many partially done fics on my laptop thanks to her. *sigh*

They are all temptresses.

Yeah, I have that too. But plots are usually my downfall and she's being pretty cooperative with giving me an idea of theme and purpose of the story. 'No one should spend Christmas alone' seems to be this year's theme. Last year was 'odd family units for the win'.

They are all temptresses.

I have about five stories on a rotation now, and none of them are satisfied.

Yeah. I also feel like my Word Fairy gets bored easily with sticking to one theme for too long. Like this JARVIS to Q fic was obviously too fluffy because now she wants to work on an angsty Steve Rogers fic. So much for the campaign of No Angst for Steve Rogers.

I think the thing you aren't working on always looks shinier because you haven't gotten to the hard part of writing it yet, so when you're in the middle of the hard part of the story you're always thinking something else would be easier to write.

So much for the campaign of No Angst for Steve Rogers.

I've settled on 'Some Angst but Also a Lot of Good Things for Steve Rogers' for this Christmas party fic.

This sums up my middle school education.

I'm not sure if it's straightforward angst if the nice thing Steve gets also makes him kind of sad.

I don't think the fact that I've become addicited to Tetris since researching it for my last daemon story is helping my productivity at all. Research is dangerous.

I'm not sure if it's straightforward angst if the nice thing Steve gets also makes him kind of sad.

Sounds like a Scribbler story to me. "Even the happy things are sad!'

In my case, the nice things make him happy. And Sam is being very protective, which is a bit adorable.

Awww! That is a bit adorable.

I'm tempted to have Sam say this in my fic now to Steve. "Man, even the happy things make you sad!"

Sam wasn't even going to be there, but Steve plus oned for him, so I was like 'okay, come on then, it's not like I don't have eight other characters to write in this thing'.

I'm tempted to have Sam say this in my fic now to Steve. "Man, even the happy things make you sad!"

I can totally hear him saying that exact thing, actually.
