I saw Due South when it aired here in the States- the first two seasons (RayV) aired on CBS I think. We loved it. It was great how it gently made fun of Americans and Canadians in such gentle ways. When the Rayk episodes aired here (on cable) I also enjoyed them, but then after they went off the air I didn't think of the show much more until discussions with [livejournal.com profile] travels_in_time and some others on my flist. I never really have immersed myself in the fandom of it though

the crumpet debate was fun!! And yes, they did make their way (tangentially) into my bigbang

and a big :) for the rest of your comments! (especially what you said about my writing smut, I always hoped it worked that way)

That's cool about due South. I never watched it when it was airing (mostly because I think I was a bit too young to fully 'get' it), but I started watching reruns, I guess about seven years ago since my brother's fiancee got me into it and they'll be seven years in April, I believe. Anyway, she was crazy about it and I fell in love with it too. It never fails to make me happy.
